Hotel California, an immersive music experience, was the graduation project by Xueyin Hong, an undergraduate student supervised by me, in the direction of Digital Media. This artwork used VR technology to bring new life to the traditional song Hotel California, where lust, lure and sin tangled into an infinite loop, as described by the last sentence of the lyric – “You can check out any time you like, but you can never leave.”
