Bixing, the God of Rain, an Interactive Installation Inspired by the Culture of Han Dynasty
(2021)

Bixing, the God of Rain is an interactive installation designed and developed by Xinping Liang and Zihan Yang under the guidance of the experts from Exactly Technology and me.  Its purpose is to explore the possibility of spreading Chinese traditional culture using interactive art. Our ancestors in Han dynasty believed that it rained because Bixing, the god of rain, tilted his bow and poured water in clouds. A visitor may also tilt a physical pottery plate to control where and how heavy it rains on the screen, which not only affects the behavior of humans and animals but also changes the environment accordingly.
